Winter holidays at Hotel Peter in Nova Ponente
The first snowflakes gently fall to the ground and nature puts on its white dress. Now snow and ski fans can look forward to a great winter sports season in the Val d’Ega!
Directly from our hotel, you can stroll through fairytale winter landscapes, skate on cross-country skis on the fascinating trails of the nearby cross-country paradise Lavazè or ski on the perfectly groomed slopes of the surrounding ski areas. For well-deserved refreshment, the rustic mountain huts in this area invite you to enjoy traditional South Tyrolean delicacies.
This year we will experience the Advent and Christmas season a little more quietly. If exploring idyllic and unspoilt winter landscapes, breathing in the fresh mountain air, looking at the snow-covered mountain peaks and marveling at the glittering Christmas decorations or simply eating the various Christmas biscuits – take a moment to enjoy the gentle sounds, in a homely and secure atmosphere.
We offer all our guests the free “Guest Pass Val d'Ega” at our reception, to use public transport free of charge and without restriction for seven days.

Winter hikes & snowshoeing
During your winter holiday in Nova Ponente we warmly recommend you a peaceful winter hike or snowshoe tour through the fairytale Dolomites of the Val d'Ega! Directly in front of our hotel many winter hiking trails wind through snow-kissed forests and meadows and lead you to rustic mountain huts and white mountain peaks. Once a week our hiking guide Karin will accompany you on winter walks and snowshoe tours, to the discovery of secret spots with idyllic viewpoints!
Cross-country skiing in the heart of intact nature
Very close to the Hotel Peter there is one of the most beautiful cross-country skiing areas of the Dolomites: the sunny Lavazè Pass cross-country skiing centre with more than 80 km of perfectly groomed trails and 15 cross-country skiing slopes of different levels of difficulty at 1.800 m of height! Nova Ponente also invites skaters and classic runners to cross-country ski through picturesque winter landscapes and snowy forests, while in Val di Fiemme, only 30 km away, you can test your skills on the famous "Marcialonga" ski-marathon track. The 7-day “Guest Pass Val d’Ega” allows you to make full use of all ski busses to the cross-country skiing centre Lavazè and Nova Ponente free of charge.
Skiing
Nova Ponente stands for pure skiing and sledging fun! Our village ski lift, which is about 600 m long and especially suitable for children and beginners, is located right next to us. On two easy slopes, families can make their first turns in the snow together and practice for the adventurous, big trails. To have lots of fun in the snow and feel like a child again, the ski area offers a slope suitable for breathtaking tobogganing rides.
For a comfortable and carefree journey to the surrounding ski areas, the “Guest Pass Val d'Ega” allows you to use public transport free of charge and without restriction. In order to avoid waiting times at the ticket offices, ski passes for the Skicenter Latemar and the ski pass Dolomiti Superski can be purchased easily at our reception.

- Family skiing area Jochgrimm/Passo Oclini
- A real insider tip is the small, well-structured Jochgrimm/Passo Oclini ski area. At approx. 2,000 m of height, far away from any hustle and bustle, you can enjoy some fun time on the snow with 4 lifts and 4 easy to medium-difficulty ski trails. Especially children, beginners and families feel at home in the area.
- Ski area Alpe Cermis in Cavalese
- Welcome to the smallest ski area in Val di Fiemme! Here you can have fun on 23 km of ski slopes, including the famous Olympia run, an exciting challenge for every passionate skier.

Exclusively for our guests in Val d' Ega: our guests can use the entire local transport system in Val d' Ega and throughout South Tyrol free of charge.
A new ski bus connection between the two Val d' Ega ski areas of Obereggen and Carezza, and a direct bus connection to the cross-country skiing paradise on the Lavazé Pass and to the small ski area on the Jochgrimm Pass from Ponte Nova, Ega, Obereggen and Nova Ponente.
Also we have a new ski bus and hiking bus - connection from Collepietra to Nova Levante
The bus lines 180 and 181 go hourly directly to Bolzano.
A new bus line 184 will connect the villages of Ponte Nova, Ega Obereggen, Nova Ponente and connect Obereggen directly with Bolzano once a day.
New hiking bus twice a week to Jochgrimm and Bletterbach.
You can use all this free of charge with your "Guest Pass" in Val d' Ega.
